Hi Everyone,

Recently I was reminded of a dream I had about a year ago. The dream was of this huge gate that was beginning to close, and there were people on the inside and people on the outside, but what was really worrying was that there were many in the middle, in the way of the closing gate. They were neither in nor out which meant that the gate would crush them. In the dream, I could hear a voice calling ‘Come in quick!'.

I started thinking how this was a picture of how so many people have declared that they are Christians but they have not made a total heart surrender but only with their mouths. This is a dangerous place to be because Revelations 3:15-16 says that lukewarm is not pleasing to God.

In the movie ‘ Warroom’ the old lady makes a lukewarm cup of coffee for the woman she was speaking to about her commitment to God, to make her point. It must be all or nothing,  we can’t be half saved so why do we think that Jesus can have only half of our life? He surrendered all for us, He allowed His body to be sacrificed and His Blood to run free on what we see as a cross but it was really a sacrificial altar and He did it just so that we could be reunited with our Heavenly Father God.

I heard a preacher say once that his friend was excited after having some flying lessons and had told him that he could almost land a plane. The preacher responded, “My friend, almost landing a plane is a crash!” Yes, sounds funny but so true!

I believe the time has come to make a definite decision to surrender our whole heart to the Lord, not just with our words. Time to get serious about the things of God. We can be so involved with the things of the world that our relationship with God becomes just a Sunday duty. That’s not what our heavenly Father wants, He wants to meet and talk with us every day.

Matthew 22:37 says “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

(Deuteronomy 6:5, Luke 10:27, John 14:23-24)

Jesus was saying that it needs to be everything or nothing. Have a think about this and make a definite decision, perhaps even a recommitment if necessary but not halfway. Time to go all the way and whole heart surrender and refresh our relationship with our LORD!

“Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies (dedicating of yourselves, set apart) as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational act of worship." (Romans 12:1)
