Hi Everyone,

Have a read of Judges 13-16, These chapters are about Samson's birth through to his death. Today I want to focus on Judges 16:19-20. Here we read that Delilah tricked him and cut his hair after which caused his strength to leave. Of course, his strength was not in his hair but in obedience to God, who had said that he was not to cut his hair.

So the Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes, bound him in chains and forced him to grind grain in prison.

This is a picture of what the enemy has done to the Church, God's people. The Church has had its hair cut and eyes gouged out, so it lost its strength and been blinded, and the Church without the supernatural is functioning only with half the strength that it needs to be. The preaching of the Gospel is what we were meant to do but signs and wonders were meant to follow according to Mark 16:15-20. We have been tricked into thinking that we can't do as the apostles did in the book of Acts.

When they were filled with the Holy Spirit, he's the One who does the work through us but we've been deceived in believing that we're helpless. We are definitely not helpless little humans, not if we've been filled with the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead!! (Romans 8:11)

Notice that Samson's hair was cut while he was asleep. The Church has been sleeping and the enemy has stolen from us and slowly allowed worldly was to seep into our lives without us even realising.

Jesus warned us that "The thief comes to rob, kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life..." (John 10:10)

I read a book while at Bible College in 1994 by George Barna called "The Frog in the Kettle". I was reminded of this as I was writing, that if you put a frog in a kettle of boiling water, he'll jump out straight away, but if the water is cold and it heats up slowly to boiling-point, the frog will stay there til it gets boiled. That's what's been happening to us! Wake up church, do not fall into the enemy's deception any longer.

Well the time has come, as Samson's hair began to grow so did his strength and so he was able to destroy the enemy! (Judges 16:22)

So men and women of God, the Church's hair is beginning to grow and our strength is returning, Praise God!

The more time we spend in God's Presence the stronger we will become and that is very important in these days we're living in!

As we draw closer to the return of Jesus, I believe we will see a demonstration of God's power among His people again, To destroy the enemy's works and deception.

With the Holy Spirit working through us we are more than able to see signs and wonders as they did in the book of Acts.

So it's us to us, are we willing to believe and dare to step out?

It's time for the world to see God's power demonstrated again and we can all be part of it.

"Now to Him Who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us...." (Ephesians 3:20)
