Hi Everyone,

As I looked out of my kitchen window I noticed the beautiful sunshine in our backyard.

We don't normally get much sun in the back because of all the tall trees on the other side of the fence, but this morning the sun was shining through, I wondered why...what had changed?

Then I noticed something different. The strong winds and storm overnight had snapped some of the large branches from those trees and my dear husband had removed the ones that had fallen onto our side of the fence.

Wow!’ I thought ‘I didn't realise that those trees made such a difference!

I went outside and just stood there enjoying the warmth of the sun saturating my body.

Suddenly, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me and I realised, how many trees do we have in the way, between us and the SON?

How many branches block our intimacy with Him? That stop His warmth and love from reaching us, from saturating us, from healing, refreshing and strengthening us?

Branches like pride, unforgiveness, money (like the rich man in Luke 18:18-23), anger or simply being too busy, etc.

Each one of us has our own that get in the way!

John 15:1-2 tells us that the Father cuts off every branch that doesn't provide fruit.

Are we willing to let Him remove those useless branches, that not only stop us from being fruitful but interfere with our relationship with Jesus, the Son of God, and sap life from us?

So let's ask ourselves today.....Do I have any trees or branches that are getting in the way of my relationship with the SON?

Maybe it's time to let the Father chop them down?

Here are a couple more Scriptures to meditate on.

  • Hebrews 12:1-3 "Let us strip off and throw that which so readily clings to and entangles us,... Looking away (from all that will distract) to Jesus..." (vs. 1-2 Amp.)
  • Philippians 3:1-11 (NLT) In vs. 8 Paul says "Yes, everything else is worthless compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake, I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ..."

God Bless You All!

Love Giovanna!
