The answer to this question determines our whole Christian life.

Read Matthew 16:13-19.

Here the disciples were telling Jesus who other people thought He was but then Jesus asks them.

“Who do YOU say I Am?”

Each one of us must answer that question because whoever we say He is, is what He will be to us personally. Peter answers Him with “you are the Messiah/Christ the Son of the Living God.”

That is the first question we need to settle, because if that’s not how you see Him then He can be nothing else to us, it stops there!

Then is He the Lord of your life?

Is He your Savior, Redeemer?

Now that’s where people get stuck. You see most people know about Jesus, they even admit that He is the Son of God, but not everyone is willing to receive Him as Savior and Lord!

But it’s only then that we can take hold of the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven (vs 19). The Keys mean authority and that only comes with relationships.

You wouldn’t give a stranger the keys to your house, would you? But you would give them to your children.

Jesus also tells them “Upon this rock (Jesus is the rock) I will build My church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.”

So He’s telling us that if we (the church) can grasp a full revelation of Who Jesus really is and what He has given us, we can truly live as overcomers, conquerors in every situation and circumstance that life presents!

Look at Romans 8:37 Paul says that we are MORE than conquerors through Christ! Wow! I like that! You see everything comes through Christ, that’s why we need to answer that first question.“Who do YOU say I Am?”

Now let’s go a little further if that question is a yes....

What is He in your life?

Whatever we allow Him to be, is what He will be!

For Example: - How can you pray for healing, if you can’t call Him your Healer?

What about provision? Can we trust Him to truly provide all our needs? Or do we become anxious and worry ourselves out of a good night sleep when the bills arrive?

What about protection? Can He protect us as Scripture says?

Yes, it’s challenging, but either we believe what He says or we don’t!

In Mark 5:36 Jesus says to the Synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”

He’s saying the same thing to us today!

Here are just a few things He calls Himself:

Healer – Exodus 15:26, Psalm 103:3, 1 Peter 2:24

Provider – Philippians 4:19, Psalm 34:10

Shepherd – John 10:11, Psalm 23:1

Deliverer – Psalm 46:1, Psalm 34:17-19

Protector – Psalm 91:14, Psalm 32:7

Guide – Psalm 16:7, Psalm 32:8

There are many more, look them up and take some time to think about WHO and WHAT He is to you personally!

Psalm 23 (NLT) “The Lord is my Shepherd; I have everything I need.”

God Bless you all and have a great week!
