Hi Everyone,

I was listening on the radio to a counsellor speak about how many marriages are falling apart, because they get so busy with life that they forget each other and so the marriage starts to get lost in the midst of it all, their love goes lukewarm and then cold, eventually, they wake up one morning and realise that they don’t know each other anymore! We need to be aware that the enemy, the devil, is out to destroy families, so it’s something we need to work on every day!

As I thought about this, I thought the same thing can happen with our relationship with Jesus. The busyness of life can cause our love for him to grow lukewarm and then cold. Jesus said in Revelations 3:16 that we need to decide hot or cold, or He will spit us out. Have a read of it!

Lately, I’ve been reading John 1:1–14 over and over.

Turn to it and read it, then stop and meditate on it.

John 1:1 – Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. When God wanted to speak to us, He sent Jesus, so everything Jesus said and did was God speaking to us and God walking in our midst (John 14:9–10 and John 10:30).

I’ve read it so many times and every time it brings me to my knees in awe of our awesome God!

Jesus came especially to die for us! (Matthew 20:28)

He laid down His life for us! (John 10:15 and 13:37)

What amazing love! He loved us and still loves us so very much and the only way He could redeem us back from the enemy was to die for us, His resurrection stripped our enemy from all power and authority all hold, over us!

His death demonstrated His love for us (John 15:9 and 13).

But His resurrection gave us His victory! Which is our victory also! Praise God! Thank you, Jesus! (Romans 8:37, Colossians 2: 14–15)

Now we have been set free! And we belong to him again, but only if we want to, it’s our choice! (Deuteronomy 30:19-20 and John 1:12)

Now, you may say yes, yes, I know all that. Yes, we all know it, but sometimes it becomes something that we just take for granted and it loses its importance, it loses its power, it loses its priority and the love grows cold! (Galatians 5:1, 13 and 3:22)

Jesus said in Matthew 22:37

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."

It’s time to fall in love with Him all over again, to take our relationship with Him to a deeper and more intimate level! Time to go to flower fresh touch, to hunger, thirst, to desire him more than anything else that the world can give. ("Seek first… Matthew 6:33) To desire him more than what He can give.

So, where are you at with your relationship with God? Hot, cold or just lukewarm? Maybe it’s time to fall in love all over again!
