Hi Everyone,

Have you ever watched a 4-year-old trying to put on a pretty princess dress up on top of her clothes? They struggle and try to make it fit properly, but it really doesn’t, it’s quite funny actually!

Ephesians 4:17-24 & Colossians 3:8-10, speak about putting off the old man and putting on the new man. Have a read. The old man is controlled by the carnal nature but the new, born again man is controlled by the Spirit.

Read 2 Kings 2:1-14. Elisha who has been mentored by the prophet Elijah watches as his master is taken up by a chariot of fire and horses into the heavens, he never actually died. Elisha then tears off his own clothes and picks up the cloak that had fallen off Elijah. From then on, we see Elisha’s ministry take off, in fact, he did twice as many miracles as Elijah had done!

I wonder if the reason we are not able to contain the power of the Holy Spirit in its fullness and see the same healings and miracles that Jesus did and told us to do in John 14:12 is that we are still wearing the old but trying to make the new man fit on top of the old.

It doesn’t fit, we cannot be functioning properly with great, Holy Spirit power if we are still full of ourselves. Notice how Elisha had to tear off His old clothes first and then put on the new, and so this is what we are told to do also if we want to see the fullness of the power of God in our midst.

When we are saved 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that we are new creations but our minds need to be transformed as Romans 12:2 says. How? The Word. We need to read the Word, hear the Word, See the Word! And we need to spend time in the Presence of God allowing us to be continuously filled and saturated by the Holy Spirit.

Talent and ability are good but when it comes to working the signs and wonders that Jesus told us to do we must be filled and overflowing by the Holy Spirit anointing which we receive when we spend time in His Presence.

In Matthew 9:17 Jesus talks about new wineskins, again here we see that same example. I believe that when God’s people start to rise up and function the way we were called to do, the world is going to stop and take notice! At the moment we are only seeing very little and are mainly fitting into the crowd.

Men and Women of God, it’s time for us to rise up and be the continuation of Acts!

“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.” (Colossians 3:10)

“Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God, truly righteous and holy.” (Ephesians 4:22-24)
