Hi Everyone,

“There will be shaking, but don’t be shaken.”

This is a word that came to me a little while ago and I’ve been thinking about it quite a lot. So what does this mean?

We can see that there has been a global shaking over the last couple of years and all because of a virus which has changed the way we live! We’ve seen world economies, businesses, education, aged care, travel, sports, medical systems and people all shaken. We’ve seen a huge rise in depression, anxieties, suicides and all mental and emotional issues. This in turn has caused much personal and relational stress!

So what have we learned in all of this?

Perhaps, we’ve realized how nice it was to visit friends and family without having to take a rapid test! Or maybe we’ve realized how blessed we are to have a job? Or maybe we’ve learned to appreciate school teachers? Or perhaps we’ve realized that when everything else is stripped away the most important thing which cannot be taken from us is our relationship with our precious Lord Jesus! In Haggai 2:6-7, 21 (NLT)  God says that He will shake the heavens and the earth, nations and treasures.

Hebrews 12:26-27 (NLT) says “…Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also. This means that all creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.”

The unshakable things are the things of God, like our relationship with Him and others, our love, compassion, provision and all ministry to others including sharing the gospel about Jesus, these things are as John 15:16 calls it lasting fruit.

Now for the good news! Did you know that as Christians even though we live in the midst of all this shaking we don’t need to be shaken?

Romans 8:37 (NIV) says…

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”

Notice it says “in”, we can still be conquerors while all this is happening around us!

I John 5:4-5 (NIV) says we can be overcomers while living in this world.

Philippians 4:4-7 tells us that we can still be at peace if we continue to speak to our Heavenly Father and commit all to Him!

Of course, if you have not made that commitment to make Jesus Lord of your life, then you don’t have that assurance of victory, security and peace because He is the Prince of Peace, (Isaiah 9:6 NIV) but you can make that decision now if you want. Just start speaking to Him and let His peace wash over you.

If you do have that personal relationship with Jesus then you can sleep peacefully knowing that He has your life in His hands!

Let me leave you with these 2 Scriptures…

“Therefore, since we are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe…” (Hebrews 12:28 NIV)

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have (perfect) peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer (take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted)! For I have overcome the world. (I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.) (John 16:33 AMP)
