Hi Everyone,

I was looking out my kitchen window and noticed my husband with the garden, hose in hand, watering the garden. I began to think how a few days earlier we’d been for a lovely country drive and had stopped at Cardinia Reservoir. There was so much water! Yes, so much water, yet if we don’t connect our hose and turn the tap on, our garden vegs and plants would shrivel up and die! In fact, we would die of thirst also if we didn’t turn on the tap and drink, even though the Reservoir has so much water, and it's up to us how often and how much water we want.

In 2 Chronicles 32:1-30 we read about when the Babylonians surrounded Jerusalem. Nebuchadnezzar cut off their essential supplies like water thinking that they would not be able to survive for long so in desperation they would surrender but 2 yrs passed and still they were alive and well! How could this be? The secret of Jerusalem’s survival was in their secret water supply which came from a spring outside the city walls. King Hezekiah had his men cut a deep tunnel which was about 1,777 Ft long under the city walls to a reservoir that came from a spring outside the city walls to a reservoir that led to the Pool of Siloam. This was what kept them alive, without this water supply they would not have survived and would have been defeated.

You know it’s the same with the things of God.

Jesus said in John 7:37 (NIV)

“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to ME and drink.”

So it’s up to us, it’s our choice. The truth is that to live a victorious Christian life we must first recognize who our source of living water is and then realise that we need to drink from it daily.

Not just on Sundays at church but every day, just like we would in the natural because everything we need comes from God!

Psalm 42:1-2 (GNB) says, “As the deer longs for a stream of cool water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for You, the living God. When can I go and worship in Your Presence?”

Let's not fool ourselves into thinking that we are strong enough to live without this living water. We all need it or we will dry up and die!

"Have we come to the fountain of life? Are we drinking of its fullness? Are we living in His love? This is the life of our spirit; the heath of our body; the secret of our joy! May we seek this overflowing life and become channels only with all His wondrous power flowing through us; so that He can use us every day and every hour!" (Even H. Hopkins 1813-1918)

Let’s pray this together, “Oh Lord, I recognize that you alone are my source of living water and nothing but your water can satisfy my deepest thirst. Come and fill me Lord and let it overflow everywhere I go! In Jesus Name I pray; Amen!”

God Bless you all and have a great week!
