Hi Everyone,

Have a read of Mark 10:17-31.

This passage is about the Rich Man. He wanted the eternal life that Jesus was offering but his riches got in the way. Jesus didn't want his money, He wanted him!

It's the same with us, God doesn't need our money He created everything out of nothing remember! He wants our hearts, He wants us! When we give our money it needs to be out of obedience to His WORD and most of all out of our love and gratitude to Him!

Now have a read of Genesis 22:1-17.

This is about when God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, He wanted Abraham!

When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac on the altar. God didn't want Isaac, He wanted Abraham! When God asks you to put your Isaac, He just wants you! All of you!

It's only when we abandon ourselves and throw ourselves into His arms in surrender, total surrender that we can experience true freedom, joy and peace. As long as we are trying to be in control, God will let us do it, but we are cheating ourselves.

We sing "Lord I give you my heart" but do we really, or do we keep part of it to ourselves?

Matthew 16:26 says "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life?". Jesus gave up everything for us, are we able to give up everything for Him?

Challenging? Yes! But the reward outweighs the sacrifice!

Paul says in Philippians 3:7-8, 10 "I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord......I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead."

There is nothing more precious, more beautiful than an intimate relationship with our Lord!!

So let's ask ourselves, is there anything that is interfering with our relationship with our Lord?

The Holy Spirit will show you if you ask Him.

Are you able to lay it on the altar?
